Catherine Benavidez

President and CEO, Injury Management Organization, Inc.

Catherine founded Injury Management Organization, Inc. (IMO) in 1991 and serves as the President/CEO.  IMO is a managed care company serving public and private employers, nonsubscribers, insurance carriers and third-party administrators. The core business helped employers manage the cost of on-the-job injury and disability through utilization review and the development of physician networks that emphasize prudent and cost-effective care. The care model was designed to expedite healthcare to workers and speed return to work and activity.

Catherine is a licensed Occupational Therapist and Certified Case Manager (CCM) with more than 30 plus years of workers’ compensation, work-related injury, and clinical experience.   Catherine is active in the Texas Occupational Therapy Association and shares her expertise in health care management speaking nationally to various industries and health-related groups and has published articles on health care management techniques for medical providers.  Catherine and her team are the reason for IMO’s steady growth and positive reputation across the cost containment industry.  She was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to serve on the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners in 2009 and was one of 25 distinguished honorees for the Dallas Business Journal Women in Business.
